It is the most festive time of the year and a great way to celebrate the holidays with your family and friends is to have an Ugly Holiday Sweater Party theme.

Having a theme party does not have to break the bank.

Elizabeth Hashagen and Anne Caminti (Momee Friends of Long Island) have some fun ideas for you to create your party with items from your local dollar store.

Your party would not be complete without some festive treats. You can create a decorate your own ugly sweater cookie station for kids and adults to enjoy. We love decorating sugar cookies. You can buy a ready made mix or just make your favorite sugar cookie mix.

At the cookie decorating station I would have frosting, sprinkles and gel frosting tubes ( I love the sparkle gel tubes).

I purchased these ugly sweater cookie cutters —> here

You can make an ugly sweater cupcake cake in the shape of a sweater. I just made regular size cupcakes and put them in the shape of a sweater and I just used the sparkle gel to decorate and added Mike & Ike candies to look like a string of lights on my sweater cupcake cake.

(decorate any way you please!)

I absolutely love these plastic ornament glasses that you can create with a decorate your own large plastic ornament and a silver napkin ring. Just crazy glue the napkin ring to the bottom of the plastic ornament. Decorate with small bows or stickers and add a festive straw to complete your holiday festive DIY drinking cup.

I’m Anne

I love to write about all things Long Island and family. I was born and raised here and as a local, I want to share all the great things I have loved about living here since I was a child. Our community is filled with great people, amazing local businesses, beautiful nature sites, scenic beaches, craveable restaurants and so much more. My husband and I knew when we had our first child that I would become a stay-at-home mom. Thanks to my love for sharing all the things I love about Long Island, my blog was created in 2013.

We are dedicated to linking families and businesses together for the benefit of all.
I hope you enjoy all that Momee Friends offers whether it is a smile, craft, recipe, friendly advice, or an event for your family to attend together in a safe and creative environment.

I hope you enjoy my blog and find it informative! Please feel free to comment and share your experiences with all your fellow Momee Friends! I want this blog to be for all of us and I want it to be an enjoyable site that you absolutely love to visit!
