Dinosaurs hidden in eggs… this is such a fun and inexpensive way to entertain the kids this summer.

Dinosaurs are so cool and ALL kids love them. Here is a simple way to hide miniature dinosaurs in dirt eggs that you make yourself.

All you need is:

  • 1 1/4 cups dirt

  • 1 1/4 cups of flour

  • 3/4 cups salt

  • 1/2 cup sand

  • Water

  • Plastic dinosaurs I bought ours from Amazon —> click here

    Directions:

Mix together the dirt, sand, flour and salt together.

Then slowly add in water. Mix together until a dough forms (I would say about 1/4 cup of water)

Take your dinosaurs and surround the dirt dough around them. I covered some completely or left some with a tail or foot hanging out to make it look more dramatic.

Put your eggs on newspaper in a row and let them dry in the sun. Then turn them over once the one side dries. This could take about 5 to 6 hours to completely harden in direct sunlight.

I put these DIY DIRT DINO EGGS in a kiddie pool along with dirt, sand  and flour to make it look like volcanic ash and had the kids look for the buried dinosaurs at our DINO-Myte Family Event.

This activity and craft was a RAWR-SOME hit with the kids.
