We visited Lenny Bruno Farms today in Manorville.
Fresh from the local farm stand… Zucchini Blossoms.
Zucchini Blossoms are quite perishable, and should be used the day they’re bought.
I decided to make some Fried Zucchini Blossoms and these are delicious. My family really enjoyed this side dish. There is nothing like fresh and local ingredients to make a recipe so much better.
Ingredients:
Zucchini Blossoms
Seasoned Breadcrumbs
2 Eggs
Vegetable Oil
Crushed Red Pepper
Directions:
First, heat a skillet with Vegetable Oil and add a teaspoon of crushed red pepper to the oil.
Wash the blossoms gently, pat them dry, and remove the pistils.
Lightly salt the zucchini blossoms.
Put 2 eggs lightly beaten in a glass bowl. and put your seasoned breadcrumbs on a plate.
Dredge the zucchini blossoms in the egg wash then into the breadcrumbs.
Fry the zucchini blossoms till they are golden brown. (This happens within 2 minutes.)
Drain on paper towel and serve hot.
From my Momee Kitchen to yours… Enjoy!
